It all starts with hearing from God, jotting His ideas on scrap paper, and then some quiet time at the computer.
Where it all began
The catalyst
Working third shift during the week leaves lots of free time at night, especially on weekends. You can't run your power tools, and there's nothing on television. So, you retreat to the basement (ergo...Basement Books) to find something to do that won't wake the household.
The motivation
You spend time in prayer and listen to the Spirit of God. That's when His "still small voice" tells you to write. You've written articles for ministry, but this is different. This word from God is full of inspiration, hope, and creativity.
The Process and Result
Slipping in a small floppy disc (Yes, it was some time ago), the blank monitor screen comes to life as fingers peck at the keys, resulting in a first page. The title, "Wander" fills the mind with visions of high sea adventures, while at the same time reflecting the inner journey our souls and spirits experience in life. Nine months later the result is God's handiwork, not mine. His plans and purposes mixed with my flaws and love for Him.

At BC Basement Books and BobCastello.com, I strive as a writer to connect the plans and purposes of God to individuals by way of Christian novels, short stories and blogs. These are Biblical scriptures mixed within fictional stories with which the Holy Spirit has inspired me.

Wander: The Saga Begins
I am now reading Wander and at times I'm trying hard to keep up, but I love it and can even relate to Ryan's plight. He is a great character and I am enthralled also with this book!
